Porsche certificate from the 959 Special Edition program Sport Version 1985

Once upon a time there was a program at Porsche to bring a special group of 40 959 Sport Version cars to the U. This certificate would have been issued to one of those lucky buyers until there was a "misunderstanding" between Porsche and American authorities. These certificates were scrapped along with the program. There are spaces for the owners name, date, location along with the numbers of the chassis, engine and transmission. "In compliance with NHTSA this vehicle is not certified for use on public roads in the United States". There are spaces for the signatures of Alvah Holbert and Peter Schmitz director and assistant director respectively of Porsche Motorsport North America.
